Privacy policy
Last updated
This policy explains how Methode Studio LLC handles personal information when you visit methodestudio.com, join our waitlist or contact us. The Methode app is still in development. This policy currently covers our website and waitlist. We will provide app-specific privacy information before inviting people to use the app, including any beta that processes personal information.
At a glance
- Joining the waitlist signs you up for a confirmation email and one launch announcement. It does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
- We use service providers to run the website, protect the signup form and deliver email.
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand website visits. We do not use advertising pixels on this website.
- You can leave the waitlist or contact us about your information at any time.

2. Information we handle
Waitlist information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and signup date. If you arrive through a campaign link, we also record the campaign name.
Providing your email is optional, but we need it to send the confirmation and launch announcement. You can browse the website without joining the waitlist.
Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address, any name your email includes, your message and any attachments you send. Please avoid sending household financial details or other sensitive information that we do not need to answer your question.
Website and security information. Our hosting and security services process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP addresses, browser information and request details. Turnstile also processes security signals, including TLS fingerprints, to distinguish people from bots. This is separate from advertising tracking.
Email delivery information. Our email provider processes the recipient address, message content and delivery information, such as delivery failures. It also keeps waitlist addresses as contacts so that the launch announcement can be sent.
3. How and why we use information
Waitlist emails. With your consent, we send a signup confirmation and one email announcing that Methode is available. We will not add you to a newsletter or send other promotional campaigns without a separate signup or permission. You can withdraw consent by contacting us or replying to a waitlist email. You can also use an unsubscribe link wherever one is provided. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Responding to messages. We use correspondence to answer your questions, based on our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact us.
Hosting and security. We process technical information based on our legitimate interest in providing a reliable website, preventing abuse and protecting the waitlist. Any technology requiring consent under applicable law will only be used after that consent is obtained.
Website statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits and website performance. Cloudflare describes this service as not using cookies, local storage or fingerprints for analytics. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the website where permitted by law.
Compliance records. We retain limited records of consent and privacy requests to demonstrate our handling of them, based on our legitimate interest in accountability and, where applicable, legal obligations. We do not use these records as a marketing list.
5. Who receives information
We use Cloudflare for website hosting, the waitlist database, website statistics and bot protection; Resend to send the confirmation and launch emails and process delivery information; and Google Workspace to receive, store and respond to correspondence sent to our email addresses.
These providers process information for their respective services under the applicable contractual terms. Where they act as our processors, their processing is governed by data-processing terms.
Cloudflare acts as our processor when Turnstile protects our form. It also acts as a separate controller when processing signals to improve its bot-detection capabilities.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information where legally required or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
6. International processing
Our providers operate internationally, including in the United States. Personal information may be processed outside your country, where privacy laws may differ. Selecting an email-sending region does not necessarily determine where email data is stored.
You can contact [email protected] for information about the safeguards applicable to your personal information and how to obtain a copy.
7. How long we keep information
Active waitlist. We keep your signup until you withdraw consent, until 30 days after we send the launch announcement, or until 12 months after you joined, whichever happens first. If we cancel the project, we delete the active list within 30 days. If you withdraw consent, we stop further waitlist emails and remove you from the active list promptly, with removal completed within seven days.
Correspondence. We normally delete routine inquiries within 12 months after the conversation is resolved. Messages necessary for an ongoing dispute or legal obligation may be retained longer for that purpose.
Consent and request records. We keep limited evidence of signup consent, withdrawal and completed privacy requests for up to three years after the waitlist relationship or request ends. These records are restricted to compliance purposes.
Deletion from active systems may be followed by deletion from provider backups under their applicable schedules.
8. Security
We take measures appropriate to the information we handle to protect it against unauthorized access, loss and misuse.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
You can leave the waitlist at any time by emailing [email protected] or replying to a waitlist email. You can also use an unsubscribe link wherever one is provided.
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access your personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests and receive certain information in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on it. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in the applicable law.
To make a request, contact [email protected]. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify that the request concerns your information. We will not ask for more verification information than needed.
Where EU or UK GDPR applies, we normally respond within one month. If a permitted extension is necessary, we will explain the reason and extension within that first month. Other applicable laws may set different deadlines.
You may complain to a competent data-protection authority. For EU/EEA matters, this can include the authority where you habitually reside, work or where the alleged infringement occurred. In Spain, this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es). In the UK, it is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
10. Age eligibility
The Methode waitlist is intended for people aged 18 or older. Please do not join if you are under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and remove the information as appropriate.
11. Automated decisions
We do not use personal information covered by this policy to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. Automated security checks help protect the waitlist form from bots.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its date when our practices change. If a change materially affects how we use waitlist information, we will provide appropriate notice before it takes effect and obtain fresh consent where required.
Before people begin using the Methode app, we will publish privacy information reflecting its implemented features, providers and data flows. Joining the waitlist does not consent to future app analytics or newsletters.
